Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a promising treatment for hair restoration in patients with androgenic alopecia. The procedure involves drawing a patient's blood, spinning it in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from other blood components, and then injecting the PRP into the scalp. The growth factors found in PRP are thought to promote hair regrowth by stimulating dormant hair follicles and increasing blood flow to the scalp.
